I have been plotting a route
through the deep blue oceans
of Pleiades since the day I have
set my eyes on you, my love,
& so when I was on the brink
of the star cluster, whose stardust has molded my heart,
I was asked that how will my soul
be full and rich without the salt & the
waves that accompany my bod,
I couldn't fathom what my answer
should be for the question I was just asked but
aşk (love) I was ready to leave &
love was the reason for this flight after all.
Wait, the divine said as it raised from the blue
ashes I was leaving behind of what my body was.
Go to earth, you will find him there &
I will be whisking salt in the oceans
while you are on your voyage.
So, aşk is the word for love in Turkish and I just loveeee this language and so I thought today; why not borrow a word and add it to the poem. I was just going through my Instagram when I came across a picture of the Pleiades cluster and I had to write a poem on it. I know about this blue star cluster for a long long time and I actually have a story about how I got to know about it, which I will tell you some other time, not today. lol.
But did you know that,
In Indian astrology, the Pleiades were known as the nakshatra Kṛttikā which in Sanskrit is translated as "the cutters". The Pleiades are called the star of fire, and their ruling deity is the fire god Agni. It is one of the most prominent of the nakshatra and is associated with anger and stubbornness.
The Pleiades star cluster is also known as the seven sisters and messier 45; it's located in constellation Tauras.
