Subway before the pandemic

3 months back from this date,

I was sitting in a subway

with earphones plugged,

trying to ignore the hubbub of

people talking around me.

Some were complaining about their

boss at work while some were

planning about where they should

go on next weekend and

there were some who were

A L O N E,

resting their head on the

pole of the train they were just

waiting for the moment they will get home.

what was I doing?

I was looking at everyone's face.

Some were insecure;

Trust me you feel it by the way

they look at other people.

Some were fake friends,

some of them were in love and

some of them were not.

I was just waiting for my station,

so that I could get off,

O B L I V I O U S

of the fact that a pandemic was

lurking under their seats and I

won't be boarding a train for a long time.
