Quarantine log #9

It’12:17 PM right now, of course I’m writing late today because I woke up on time. Okay, I know it’s weird. So, today was the first time in I don’t know how many months that I slept at night like a normal person and woke up in the morning at 6:00. Although, I must say that I enjoy sleeping in the noon more but this was also a nice experience. Today, let’s talk about what do we miss the most about the days when we were not being in Quarantine? What do we miss the most about the kind of world we were living in?

I miss being out in nature, feeling the sun on my face while I looked at trees and grass and the wide open sky. I miss the sudden late night rides me and my partner used to go on to the centre of our city, connaught place. I miss the cool breeze of trees that used to get lost in our hairs when we passed by the Delhi forest while going to CP and I miss laying down on the grass at night and tell my partner about the constellations and facts about space. I still remember siting in the lawn which is in front of Raisina Hills in New Delhi and telling him to keep looking for UFOs. That’s what I miss about the world we were living in few months back. No, it’s not the malls, it’s not the movies, it’s not the shopping and it’s not the restaurants or museums. I’m not saying that I didn’t use to go to malls for shopping and watching movies. Yes, I did like any other person but I don’t miss it. I don’t know how many of you do, so let me know in the comments about that.

But, isn’t it weird that we do not miss the most of the kind of world we were living in and I guess the right expression for this is; freedom. What we actually miss is freedom maybe and with that freedom we have done things which we did not need to do. We spent money on things just because we saw them on the shelves of malls, we ate certain things just because restaurants out there were making them; not because we needed to have them.

Didn’t we live in a world full of things which do not actually make our world?

Signing out with dhoop ke makaan (A house of sunshine) playing in my ears.
