Quarantine log #7

It’s 6:41 in the AM and I just got done with making breakfast and having it. I didn’t go out yet because the wind is little steady today plus I want to read a book after this. So, for the day I’m going to stay inside the house but I’m definitely going outside at night to enjoy the view of stars. It’s been days I went for a walk at night and I miss the stars. Also, the recent release of UFO video by pentagon has made me curious to look at night sky on some other level. Trust me, It’s mind-blowing and if you haven’t taken a look at the video yet then please do, I’m gonna put the link at the end of this post. So, today I really want to talk about something in particular which is being overwhelmed on some days. It’s the 36th day of lockdown in my country and some of you might be in quarantine much longer than this or maybe it has just begun in your country. The truth is that at some point you are bound to feel overwhelmed by everything around you. The news, the kind of protective measures we have to take every second, the staying at home 24*7; all of this can feel a bit much. I had a moment like this yesterday and it’s fine to feel like that. Isn’t that natural? If you were told to go out every single day for hours and that to without a break, you would feel the same. So, that’s the thing and I can tell you what works the best for me in such moments. I take a pause. Just keep your phone aside, do not even talk to anyone if you don’t feel like (because you will end up may be shouting at that person and it will hurt them and of course you); all I’m saying is stop doing everything and breathe. The sooner you do this, the sooner you will be done with this overwhelming feeling. Because when we feel overwhelmed, everything around us feels too much. It’s like a song was being played at volume 10 and suddenly someone has turned it up to 100. In that case, the first thing you need to do is get away from the place where it’s being played for few minutes and relax your senses.

So, this quarantine season if you end up feeling overwhelmed by everything around you take a pause and do not be scared to do that. Plus, I would like to suggest you that stay informed by watching the news but don’t fill your head with it by watching and reading it all the time. It’s not going to do any good. Just do your best by following the rules and keeping yourself and your loved ones safe.

Signing out with the sound of raindrops falling on my window! Joking, It’s Alexa.
