Quarantine log #5

It’s 6:31 in the AM right now and the weather is so pleasant outside. Rain and thunderstorm along with the Sunday mood is the best possible thing which can happen on a weekend. I know, it’s quarantine and every other day is like a Sunday but I have not stopped respecting my weekends so Saturday and Sunday are still a no work days for me. It feels normal and this is what we need the most these days I guess. It’s 26th April today, which means it’s day 33rd of the quarantine. I know it must be different if you are not living in India but yeah that’s the case here. Now, for some people this might be a sort of vacation which is totally fine if they had given their days and nights to the work they do before all of this happened but this time can also be an opportunity. An opportunity to look more at yourself rather than the outside world. It can be an opportunity to do things which you always wanted to do, like cooking or learning a new language or reading more books; literally anything. It’s a great time to look after yourself without any distractions of waking up early and getting somewhere and of course these small accomplishments need not be just tangible. It could be a great time to heal yourself mentally or emotionally also. A lot of us tend to ignore that and also sometimes feel like that may be we are wasting our valuable time on it but looking after your mental and emotional space will actually turn out to be a lot more beneficial than you think. A lot of problems in our life are just because of the reason that we are not in a good place emotionally and mentally.

In today’s log I’m also gonna enter few things I have been doing or trying to do while being quarantined and I hope that helps:

  • Reading books

  • Taking courses online

  • Meditating

  • Giving more time to my hobbies

  • Watching helpful and intelligent content on YouTube

  • Playing games (I mean you cannot be such a spoil sport)

  • Cooking

  • Eating better and healthy since take aways are not a option during this time



To be honest, the list is endless and the kind of activities you might want to indulge in this time will be different for everyone and I’m happy to tell you guys that finally, I didn’t eat junk for this whole week. For sure, I’m gonna treat myself today but I was trying to accomplish this for a long time now. Every time I tried to form a 7 day streak of not eating any processed food I used to give up on day 3 or 4 because I would miss my snack time in the evening. Until, I realised that I don not even need to stop snacking at all. All I need to do is make my snacks healthy and that’s what I did. Lowkey, I’m proud of myself for this.
