Hazelnut toasts

I have made toasts with hazelnut

spread on them like a sheet,

in the mellow summer afternoon,

while listening to the cicadas

I N O U R L A W N.

I was binging on the popcorns

you brought last Saturday,

while readying our meal and

trying to get the last drop of honey

out of the jar to add-in our coffee

before I throw it away.

I hope you get up from your nap soon

and water the daisies as promised,

After which we eat while

switching channels on our old TV.

Prepping meals was never such a bliss.

This poem in itself feels like a very blissed out song to me and I can almost imagine having an afternoon like that with my partner. Won't that be lovely? Hazlenut is my new food obsession these days so I thought of adding it to my poem and I really like the way it turned out.

What is your food obsession these days?
